Another hack-and-slash RPG

Last Epoch is an action-packed role-playing game for PC developed by Eleventh Hour Games. Initially funded on Kickstarter before reaching mainstream success, it perfectly caters to both experienced players and beginners while incorporating a unique time travel mechanic and infinite replayability to its hack-and-slash gameplay.

In Last Epoch, you will be able to journey through the ancient world of Eterra where you'll encounter powerful empires, angry deities, and unexplored wilderness, all to rescue time from the ominous Void. The game involves a ton of traveling through time, crafting out of various loots, improving skills, and rising through the leaderboards.

Diverse builds and lots of loot

Last Epoch features five main character classes to choose from, including the Sentinel, Primalist, and Mage. What's more, there are 15 Mastery Classes you can ascend like the Void Knight, Shaman, and Runemaster, just to name a few. That, combined with over 100 Skill Trees and a robust crafting system, make for virtually endless builds and replayability as you explore the game's vast and dangerous open world.

Every skill in the game has its own augment tree and a deep and randomized loot system that will allow you to fill your arsenal with magic items that you can crafted to grant all kinds of stats and bonuses. The game also features a robust and deterministic upgrade mechanic and the ability to travel to different moments in time and discover the many factions and secrets within the world of Eterra.

Fair play for all

Last Epoch is easy to learn but hard to master, as it provides an approachable gameplay experience ideal for new and veteran players. Furthermore, the game is committed to creating a free and fair environment for all players; thus, you can be assured that it will never offer gameplay advantages by spending real money. All incoming updates, content, and features will remain free for all players.

Its gameplay lets you choose from different modes, giving you the freedom to choose your difficulty. You can also expect to see more gaming modes added in future updates. Current gaming modes include:

  • Hardcore - Your character can experience permanent death with no way for revival.
  • Solo Self-Found - Anything you find on a certain character can only be used by them.
  • Masochist - This mode is perfect for testing and honing your skills as it is difficult to play even at the lowest levels.

However, it is essential to note that this game isn't meant to be played by everyone due to its mature nature. Alongside its thrilling gameplay comes the frequent appearance of violence and gore, which can be amplified by the game's striking 3D graphics. It's best to play the game only at home with appropriate-aged players and most especially not at work where you can possibly be reprimanded.

Official release

To celebrate Last Epoch’s official release and exit from Early Access, the game’s version 1.0 will feature full controller support and a smoother offline mode, brand-new cinematics and improvements to the game’s lighting, a scene variant system, and more quality-of-life enhancements. Besides that, there will also be item factions, which are the Merchant’s Guild and Circle of Fortune. Primalists’ Tempest Strike skill will be revamped, while a new skill Gathering Storm will be introduced.

At the same time, Paladins will receive a new skill called Healing Hands. The game will also introduce the concept of Resonances, and Acolytes and Rogues will receive new Mastery levels — Warlock and Falconer, respectively.

Infinite ways to play

Last Epoch is a gruesome game with infinite replayability elements blended with time travel and a crafting system. It offers different modes with varying difficulties. It is easy to learn but hard to master and provides an approachable gameplay experience for new and veteran players. However, much like Diablo 4, it incorporates violence and gore so it is recommended to be played only at home by appropriate-aged players.
